JOURNEY BY NIGHT: A bar in Vienna, its foreign-born regulars live on the edge of society. The majority are not Austrian citizens, are unemployed and have no financial resources. They lead lives between legality and illegality, between surviving and wasting away.
For a small group of native Turks, this existence represents a transitory phase which will eventually lead to a better life. One of them, named Cemo, is unable to carry on in the face of this contradiction between hope and reality.
  JOURNEY BY NIGHT tells the story of applicants for asylum and homeless migrants, of individuals who exist on the edge of society and how they are worn down by the contradiction between hope and reality. It is a milieu study which will acquaint its viewers with a group of people whose lives have not been touched by what is termed integration.

JOURNEY BY NIGHT tells the story of individuals who are trying to survive in Austria, portraying their fears, worries and joys. Viewers will be introduced to the little-known world of illegal aliens in Austria, a world populated by individuals whose struggle for survival plays out in exclusion from the rest of society.
